Just saw them performing much of this album on their west coast tour. San Diego and Pioneertown dates. Didn’t know any of them lol. I’m all about their old shit but I like this. Playing it more and more. Appreciate the evolution of one of my favorite bands in the world since middle school! 🖤

Probably Bright Eyes most lush album, with a kitchen sink full of instruments. It feels like sweeping over a continent in some ways, you're traveling to a special place called Cassadaga. It was the first album by them I checked out during a first low time in my life, and so I always enjoy it. If anything it's gotten better over the years. Favourite track: Middleman.

After I discovered GUNSHIP with UNICORN, I went through all their material in a rush. They're whole discography is great, and I think this is the greatest. This album haunts me. I can't listen to it once. Even if I turn it off, I still hear it echoing in the back of my mind. GUNSHIP has a mastery of the bridge that reaches the level of mastery in this album that's just unrivaled. If you get only one album from GUNSHIP, get this one.
